Abstract

145,345. Weller, J. Nov. 22, 1919. Driving-gear.-Balancing is effected by weights mounted upon a pair of oppositely-rotating shafts E, M, driven at twice the speed of the crank-shaft. Weights are mounted upon both ends of each shaft E, M, from which are driven a magneto, a dynamo, and a water-circulating pump, the rotor of which may itself carry the weights secured to the shaft driving the pump. The shafts may be driven through a pinion C, which gears with a wheel D on the shaft E, or a wheel K on the crank-shaft may gear directly with a wheel L on the shaft M.
