Abstract
128,679. Hagens, H. Dec. 14, 1917. Addition to 128,675. Valve-gear.-The cam-shaft driving mechanism described in the parent Specification is modified by mounting the gear-wheel B either loosely upon the crank-shaft 4 or so that it may slide thereon. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, the wheel B is loosely mounted upon the crank-shaft, from which it is driven through spur.wheels 6, 5, 2. Radial shafts x, which are rotated at one-half the speed of the crank-shaft, carry bevel-wheels C<4>, D<4> which gear with teeth on one of the two faces of the wheel B. If the wheel B is keyed to the crank-shaft so that it may slide thereon, the spur gearing is dispensed with.
