Abstract
499,095. Driving-gear. NISSEN, H. G. April 30, 1938, No. 12966. [Class 7 (ii)] Power is transmitted from a multi-throw crank-shaft 2 at an intermediate point thereof 3 and at the same time from one end 5 of the shaft. Concentric countershafts 10, 7 driving propellers 12, 13 may be driven, as shown in Fig. 2 through spur wheels 11, 6 respectively. Alternatively, a single countershaft may carry two spur wheels meshing with pinions at the points 3 and 5 of the crank-shaft.
