Driving-arrangements for screw propellers. - Driving-mechanism for marine propellers, compressors, dynamos, or the like, comprises a reciprocating engine A, a fly-wheel G, and a gearwheel C arranged so as to be at a nodal point in the torsional oscillations of the shaft B. The gear C engages a gear D on the propeller or other driven shaft. If the fly-wheel is not entirely effective, there may be combined with it any form of damping-device for stopping the remainder of the oscillations.
