Abstract
540,803. Driving-gear ; plant. AKTIEBOLAGET ATLAS DIESEL, and THEGE, E. O. P. May 20, 1940, No. 8964. [Class 7 (ii)] Crank-shafts 28, 29 each associated with a line of cylinders 1, 2 drive a take-off shaft 3 through separate crank-shafts 31, 32, coupled to the shafts 28, 29 respectively and connected to each other by similarly-phased crankpins and one or more connecting-rods 36. The additional crank-shafts are mounted in a casing 19 attached to the engine crank-casings to which the cylinders 1, 2 are secured. Two such sets as shown may drive a main shaft through reduction gearing.
