Feedwater, controlling.-In a feed regulator of the kind in which the feed valve is operated by the expansion and contraction of tubes placed in free communication with the boiler and across the water level therein, the tubes are maintained under tension, say by a weight on the valve lever, and the walls of the tubes are not substantially thicker than is required to withstand the boiler pressure. Oppositely inclined tubes supported in a frame are secured at one end in an adjustable block formed with a passage placing the, tubes in communication with one another, and at the other end are connected to the float-valve lever through a lever pivoted between the tubes, as described in Specification 331,245.
