Abstract

Feedwater, controlling.-A valve 16 mounted in front of the feed valve 15, which is operated in accordance with the changes in the boiler water level, varies the pressure drop through the feed valve with the varying load on the boiler. The valve 16 is operated by a bellows 24 acted upon on one side by the pressure in the boiler steam pipe 27 beyond a restriction 26, and on the other side by the pressure in the water inlet pipe 31. A second diaphragm 19 acted upon on opposite sides by the pressures on opposite sides of the feed valve tends to keep the pressure drop through the feed valve constant while the load is constant.
