[Class 135] The flow of steam to a relay valve 10 controlling a boiler feed valve c is regulated by a float 7 in a chamber 5 connected by pipes 4. 6 to a stand pipe 1 in communication with the boiler steam and water spaces. The pipe 6 opens into the steam pipe at the desired normal boiler water level, and when its end is uncovered the chamber 5 is full of steam so that the float falls and admits steam through a valve 9 to the relay valve. When the end of the pipe 6 is submerged the steam in the chamber condenses and the float rises and the valve 9 is closed.
