Abstract

453,375. Gauge glasses. GRIMMETT, A. J., 65, West Bank Road, Birkenhead. June 18, 1935, No. 17464. [Class 123 (i)] To prevent false indications of a gauge 11 due to variations in temperature and density between the boiler water and the water in the gauge, water is allowed to flow continuously from the pipe 13 connecting the gauge to the boiler water space, through the bottom of the gauge and back to the boiler through a conduit 20. The flow of boiler water through the pipe 13 and the return to the boiler may be controlled by a thermostatically operated valve which reduces the flow of water as its temperature increases.
