[Class 51 (i).] The water supply and delivery pipes of the water-cooled firebridge C described in the parent Specification are modified by connecting the inlet pipe D, which passes through the furnace ashpit, by a cock K to the front of the boiler, or to the boiler shell, and by connecting the outlet pipe E, which passes through the furnace, to the shell of the boiler by a cock L. A safety valve may be provided on the inlet or outlet pipes or cocks as shown at M. A blow off pipe N leads from the bottom of the firebridge through the ashpit to the front of the boiler where it is provided with a cock.
