Abstract
629,198. Waste heat boilers. SPANNER, E. F. Aug. 11, 1947, No. 22246. [Class 123(ii)] A waste heat boiler comprises an upper gas inlet chamber A, preferably lined with refractory material, a bottom dust and spark collecting chamber C having an internal or external outlet flue D, and an interconnecting bank of vertical spirallygrooved tubes B. The boiler may be connected, by flow and return piping having stop valves E, F and H, J respectively, to a steam-and-water drum or second boiler G which has a working water level above the upper tube plate of the first boiler so that the tubes B of the latter are always drowned.
