Abstract

Feedwater, controlling. -In a feed-supply regulator of the kind in which the opening of the feedvalve is controlled by the back water pressure bebind a leaky piston on the valve stem, the escape of leakage water being controlled by a needle valve I operated by a float B in a chamber in communication with the boiler, the float chamber communicates with the boiler through a conical tubular socket 0 terminating at the normal boiler water level. The float chamber is either full of water or empty according to whether the boiler water level is above or below the bottom of the socket. A small quantity of water is poured into the spherical float before sealing.
