Abstract
507,598. Fluid actuated valves. BAILEY METERS & CONTROLS, Ltd. Dec. 17, 1937, No. 35022. Convention date, Dec. 18, 1936. [Class 135] [Also in Group XI] In a burner in which a gaseous fluid is discharged under pressure to effect a rapid mixing of the fuel and air the gaseous fluid pressure is maintained automatically greater than the fuel pressure by predetermined amount. In the apparatus shown for supplying steam to the barrel 24 and liquid fuel to the pipe 28 of the burner described in Specification 465,691, [Group XI], the valve 44 controlling the steam supply is operated by a diaphragm 54 subjected on its upper side to the steam pressure and on its lower side to the fuel pressure plus the pressure due to weights 57, 58 carried by a lever 59. The valve 44 may be byepassed by a pipe 4 in an emergency. The burner may be used with a steam boiler having the controls described in Specification 482,059.
