Abstract

381,858. Feedwater regulators for steam boilers. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. April 8, 1932, No. 10108. Convention date, May 21, 1931. [Class 123 (ii).] Continuous tube boilers having a main supply of medium at the inlet end 1 and an additional supply at an intermediate point or points 27, are provided with separate means 8, 7 for respectively controlling the main supply in accordance with the load and the additional supply in accordance with the steam temperature, with further means whereby one or each of these controls can influence the other supply. The controls 7, 8 are connected to servomotors 10, 12 which act through rods 13, 16 at points 15, 17 respectively towards opposite ends of a floating lever 14. Links 21, 19 pivoted on the lever actuate valves 22, 24 regulating respectively the main and intermediate supplies. In a modification link 21 adjusts the output of a feed pump delivering both supplies, a valve in a branch pipe leading to the intermediate point 27 being actuated by the link 19.
