Abstract

Latches, sliding; striking-plates.-A sliding latch head is notched at o to form a safety catch and its front face and the engaging face n<1> of the lip n of the striking-plate are inclined with respect to the front face of the latch to prevent rattling. The latch may be operated either by the lever e which acts directly on the latch bolt or by an outside handle attached to the spindle i. Operation by means of the handle may be prevented by a pivoted lever l which is adapted to engage a projection m of lever e. A projection p on the front plate of the lock is adapted to engage a hole in the striking-plate. Specification 4668/15 is referred to.
