Abstract

[Class 44.] In a door lock having a latch bolt a and deadlocking bolt g, the latch is shot by a lever k forming a prolongation of a deadbolt tumbler l which has a locking pin m adapted to engage one or other of two notches n, n<1> in the bolt g and is slidably guided in a slot o in the casing. This pin also serves as fulcrum for the lever k, the end of which bears against a shoulder behind the head of latch a, which may be reversible for right- or left-hand use. A single compression spring i acts on a lug h on the usual hand-operated follower e and on one or other of a number of lugs r provided on member k, l so that the relative effects on the tumbler and lever may be adjusted. The follower arm f is normally held in abutment against a fixed latchguiding stud c. The bolt g is operated by a key the bit q of which slides the tumbler out of locking engagement.
