Latches, prevent ing operation of. - The square operating spindle of a latch is secured against movement by a key operated bolt carried in the attachment plate and embracing three sides of the spindle. The bolt h slides in guides g and is retracted by springs i to disengage its recess q from the spindle e. For shooting the bolt, a key is inserted into a locking mechanism k of the revolv-. ing-barrel type to turn a cam l, shoulders o, p on which engage a pin n on a second cam m which operates the bolt. The stop r and the flat limit the rotation of the cam m in the unlocking and locking direction respectively.
