Signs.-Signs of the daylight reflector type have a main reflector with reflecting faces alternately facing two directions and with auxiliary reflecting means so that two beams of light striking the main reflector, one directly and one after reflection by the auxiliary reflector, emerge in a common third direction. The silvered glass sheet S, 2, has a ribbed rear surface F<1>, F<2> so that incident beams at two different angles B<1>, B<3> are reflected as parallel beams B<2>, B<4>. As applied to a sign of the daylight reflector type, the casing H, Fig. 3, is fitted with a stencil G and the ribbed reflecting glass S. An inclined downward beam B<1> is reflected horizontally through the stencil as a beam B<2>. A vertical downward beam VB is reflected from a plain reflector M as an inclined upward beam B<3> which is reflected horizontally through the stencil as before. Lamps L may be placed above or below the plain reflector for illumination at night. the reflector being semi-silvered or having a number of small unsilvered areas when the lamps are underneath it.
