Ceiling, shop-front, street, and like lamps. - In a lamp of the type described in Specification 8469/12, in which lenses are arranged around the light source A so as to concentrate the rays, fixed mirrors E are arranged around the lenses at such an angle that the light rays made convergent by each lens are projected in divergent beams, the several beams either crossing each other or being superimposed. The light source A is carried by a screwed rod C adjustably secured to the casing by nuts c, c<1> and the lenses B on each side of the light source are mounted in holders which are vertically adjustable in brackets b, the latter being secured to the casing by screws b<1> in a manner enabling the lenses to be adjusted in a horizontal direction. The lens B' beneath the light source is also adjustably mounted with respect to the light source on pillars b<3>. The mirrors E may be formed with corrugated backs so as to diffuse the light. In a modification, the lenses and mirrors are provided on three sides only, the fourth side and bottom carrying plain glass so as to permit of an ordinary divergent beam passing therethrough. The lamp is stated to be particularly applicable for lighting shop windows, lofty buildings, streets, &c.
