Abstract
315,336. Burns, W. A. April 11, 1928. Signs; nameplates and the like.-Advertising- signs of the daylight reflector type with a front stencil have the mirror formed as a series of inclined reflecting planes separated by shorter non-effective portions or spaces through which artificial light can pass for night illumination. The reflecting glass sheet is formed with a smooth front surface and a rear surface having ribs 2 with inclined silvered surfaces 2<a> and shorter unsilvered portions C. An incident beam A striking the front surface is refracted to and reflected @ on the silvered surface and emerges along a @ B so that it passes through the stencil 1. The stencil 1, Fig. 2, may be in proximity to the reflector which is formed of overlapping inclined glass strips 3, the rear surfaces of which are silvered while the ends are unsilvered so that light from a lamp can be used for illumination at night.
