Abstract
270,791. Beard, P. W. Feb. 8, 1926. Lenses.-A lantern for stage or display lighting adapted to produce a small area of uniform light free of light source image, or if required larger areas, comprises two lens elements in combination, one consisting of a double concave lens 7 and a plano-convex 6 of short focal length, the other being a plano-convex lens 10 of longer focal length. With the two elements arranged as shown the small area beam is produced. By removing the first element and putting in its place the second, the focus of which then lies behind the light source, the beam of larger area is produced. A fourth convex lens 12, Fig. 3, may be mounted on the first element between the lens and the light source to increase the area of illumination.
