Abstract

Two-part couplings. -An adapter having a plug to fit an ordinary lamp-holder and two sockets f, g to receive a lamp or a connector for a distant apparatus, a switch being mounted within the insulating body a of the adapter, has the switch mounted on an insulating platform l supported by brackets m, m<1> connected to the contact pins and preferably forming the electrical connections between the contact pins and the switch contacts p, p<1>. In the form shown the switch controls only the supply to the socket f, the terminal o<1> being connected to the switch contact p<1> and to the pin k<3>, and the contact o to the two pins k<2>, j<1>. The body a is divided so that the switch mechanism, contacts, and connections can be assembled before placing them in position as shown in one half of the casing, the other half being superposed and held by pins c, d, e to secure the parts in place. Two switches may be mounted on the bridge l one to control each socket.
