Abstract

492,058. Two-part couplings combined with switches. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., McLOUGHLIN, H. F., and HARRISON, B. G. April 10, 1937, No. 10254. [Class 38 (i)] An adapter for connecting two or more circuits to a supply socket comprises terminals in connection with its plug pins to which a main circuit can be connected directly through a switch in the adapter, and sockets into which one or more subsidiary circuits can be plugged, the sockets being connected to the plug pins through fuses adapted to the rating of the subsidiary circuits. The body of the adapter is made of three parts, the part a carrying the plug pins a<2>, a3, the terminals for the main circuit, and the switch f which is accessible for operation only when the adapter is removed from the supply socket. The part b carries the sockets arranged beneath apertures c<2>, c<3> in the cover c and a clip b<4> connected to one socket and adapted to receive a fuse g that passes through the member b to a clip a<9> on the part a. The fuse is accessible only when the cover c is removed and the screws holding the cover c and the parts a, b together are accessible only when the adapter is disconnected from the supply socket.
