Abstract
474,074. Two - part couplings. LEE, B., and BEVIS, P. B. Jan. 24, 1936, No. 2320. [Class 38 (i)] A terminal element fitted with pins, sockets or other contacts is adapted to be removably fitted to one member of a swivelling coupling, thus enabling any one of a number of different connections to be made with the one coupling. A three-pin terminal element, Fig. 2, has a central bore 5 into which the end of one member of the coupling 2 is passed. Contacts 6 in the bore 5 are connected to the pins 8, and engage contacts 3 on the member 2. To ensure correct insertion a feather 9 slides into a recess 10, and the element may be retained by a screw 11. The terminal element instead of carrying pins or socket contacts may be in the form of a screw plug or of a plug with a bayonet fastening. Specifications 453,360 and 474,073, are referred to.
