Abstract
393,225. Plug couplings. LUNDBERG & SONS, Ltd., A. P. and PEGG, G., 477, Liverpool Road, Holloway, London. Jan. 24. 1933, No. 2276. [Class 38 (i).] A socket member for use with plugs of different sizes has two socket elements 7a, 7b of different size arranged to merge into one another. The arrangement may be such that the smaller elements 7b of a pair lie in a plane parallel to (or coincident with) that of the larger pair 7a, as shown in Fig. 3, thus permitting the body portion of the socket member to be of narrow rectangular form. The invention is shown applied to the lateral socket members 7, 9 of an adaptor, Fig. 1, comprising an insulating body 1, into which are slid, one from each end, sheet-metal members 19, Fig. 4, shaped to provide two-size socket elements at each end, a central hole to receive a front socket element 5, and a lug 13 receiving a plug member 3.
