Abstract

519,992. Two-part couplings. WOOLDRIDGE, H. Oct. 10, 1938, No. 29261. [Class 38 (i)]- [Also in Group XI] A battery lamp has an insulating plate 2 carrying on its upper surface the lampholder socket and on its under surface a pair of bifurcated resilient contacts 1, closed at one end, into which the battery terminals 3 fit. At their closed end, the contacts 1 are attached to studs 4 that pass through the plate 2 and form connections to the lamp-holder contacts. The contacts are arcuate in shape so that as the plate 2 is attached to the battery casing by a rotary movement the terminals 3 pass into the contacts 1. A wall 6 on the plate 2 may enclose each contact 1 to limit its expansion by the pressure of the terminal 3.
