Abstract

345,116. Plug couplings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Watts, N. H.; 88, 10th Street, Oakland, California, U.S.A.) April 3, 1930, No. 10620. Convention date, April 3, 1929. [Class 38 (i).] Plug, socket, or other contacts 11, 22 attached to a flexible lead 12, 27 are mounted in a resilient rubber body 10, 26 and are normally out of alignment with the corresponding contact. The sockets 11, or pins 22 or both may be inclined as shown in the Figure, or the distance between the sockets may be different from the distance between the pins, or where three contacts are provided they may be arranged slightly displaced from a straight line. The conductors 17 are turned back outside the rubber sheath of the lead 12 and are soldered to the sockets. The sockets may then be corded to the end of the lead and the rubber body may be vulcanized to the sheath of the lead.
