Two-part couplings. - A socket 1 of insulating material carries a pair of contacts 2, 4, the contact 2 having an arm that lies in a groove intersecting the socket hole a, and engaging the end of the contact 4. When a plug is inserted the arm 2 is deflected breaking connection with the contact 4 and making connection with a contact on the plug. Two or more pairs of contacts may be provided for use with a corresponding plug. The contacts 2, 4 have a perforated extension for attaching a wire .
