Abstract

250,797. Bailey, T. July 10, 1925. Two-part couplings; fusible cut-outs.-A fuse container comprises a body-member 1 carrying contacts 13 at opposite sides and a plug 5 that screws into the member 1 and carries contacts 10 connected by a fuse-wire 18 and arranged to coact with the contacts 13. The line conductors 19 are secured in sockets 12 on the contacts 13, and the contact face is formed with a recess 21. The contact 10 has a resilient portion with a rib 20, and an upturned end 10<a> to act as a stop. The end 5a of the plug is square or flattened so that it can be turned by means of a socket secured to a pole in the case of overhead fittings, the screw producing a quick break to prevent arcing. In connecting a branch line the conductor can be looped round a groove 4.
