Abstract
622,631. Two-part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SMITH, K. C. April 2, 1947, No. 8990. [Class 38 (i)] A fused " spider " plug comprises a flat insulating body 1 along the side edges 3, 4 of which flat contacts 5, 6 are secured by screws 8 and urged outwardly by springs 9. Also secured by the screws 8 are right-angled members 25 which engage the end caps 19 of cartridge or like fuses 11 arranged in inclined bores 16, 17 in the body, the other end caps 18 engaging washers 21 located in stepped portions 20 of the bores and to which the cores 22, 23 of a cable 12 are soldered, the said cable being secured in a slot 15 in the body by a clamp 14. Only one of the cores may be fused, the other core being passed through its respective bore to the other screw 8.
