Abstract

630,456. Cable terminals. BELLING & LEE, Ltd., and STRAFFORD, F. R. W. May 23, 1947, No. 13952. [Class 38 (i)] A connector for a multicored cable 4 comprises spaced concentric annular contacts 5, 9 separated by a disc insulator 8 and connected to the cores 11, 12 respectively. A cooperating connector comprises a screw 17 mounted in an insulator 16 in a contact 15, the contacts 5, 9 being clamped in contact with the contacts 15, 17 by a nut 18. The contact 5 has a sleeve extension 7 secured to the cable insulation and connected to the core 11. The contact 15 has a screwed bush 14 for securing to a panel, Fig. 3 (not shown), and the nut 18 may comprise a metal core in an insulating body. For test purposes the contact 17 may extend through the nut 18 which may be replaced by a spring clip. A radial slot may extend from the conductor 9 to the connector edge so that the connector can be applied without removing the nut 18.
