Abstract

716,777. Binding-posts. KRONE, G. Dec. 30,1952, No. 32935/52. Class 38(1). A terminal, in particular for stranded wires of a telephone system, comprises an insulating socket 1 having a funnel-shaped opening 2 through which the end of the wire is inserted and then clamped between a metal disc i and an insulated nut 13. The nut screws onto a threaded part 14 of a bolt 4. which has a square portion 5 fitting into a square notch 3 in the socket 1, and is secured by a nut 8 screwing on a threaded part 7, two rubber discs 9, 1 and a supporting disc 10 being provided between the nut and the socket i. A head 15 on the bolt prevents the nut 13 from being screwed right off the bolt 4. A groove 16 in the socket 1 enables adequate insertion of stiff wires to be effected. In another embodiment (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) a double terminal is provided on a single socket.
