Abstract
929,387. Cable and wire terminals. BURNDY CORPORATION. Dec. 29, 1961 [Jan. 3, 1961], No. 46547/61. Class 38 (1). A connector comprises a conducting body 12 threaded at 20 to receive a mating compression cap 14 and having a tapered socket 16 in which a coiled spring 26 is seated, the latter gripping the bared core 28 of a conductor 10 inserted into the socket 16 and through an aperture 24 in the cap 14, when the cap is tightened. The spring may be tapered to fit socket wall 18, and may be inwardly bent at places around its periphery to grip smaller conductors (Fig. 4, not shown), The connector body may be provided with coupling means, such as an apertured terminal tongue 34.
