Abstract

584,902. Two-part couplings. HENLEY'S TELEGRAPH WORKS CO., Ltd., W. T., and MOOR, E. Feb. 5, 1945, No. 2904. [Class 38 (i)] Terminals 11 of rectangular section, moulded in the insulating base of a plug connector, have outer parts to contact end-caps 9 of cartridge fuses 10. The plug pins 2 have contacts 7 which engage the other end-caps of the fuses, which are held in position by projections 19, 23 in the base and cover 20, respectively. The earth-pin 3, also moulded in the base has a bore to receive a pin 32 in a co-operating socket 33 and thereby prevents the insertion of an unfused plug. Grooves 4, 5, 6 are provided for cable conductors, and an insulating serrated bridge-piece 31 co-operating with serrations 27 in the groove 4 grips the cable and serves as a support for contacts 7. The fuse of one pole may be replaced by a strip-link between a terminal 11 and its pin 2, Fig. 4 (not shown). Apertured projections 23 are provided when fuses with indicators are used, Fig.7 (not shown).
