In a plug or socket connector comprising a two-part casing, the casing parts have channels respectively receiving the leads connected to the plug or socket contacts, the open sides of the channels being exposed when the parts are separated so that the leads may be placed therein, adjacent channels being offset from each other in the direction of their depth and also of their breadth. The invention is shown applied to a plug connector which comprises a pin carrying body part 10 and cover part 11, the current carrying pins 12, 13 supporting a terminal nut 19 and cartridge fuse clip 24, respectively; the earth pin Fig. 4, (not shown) having a terminal nut 20. The other fuse clip 25 supports a strip 27 carrying a binding screw 28. A cable entry 33 is formed in the parts 10, 11, and leading from the entry in the part 10 to the nut 19 and screw 28 are a pair of passage-ways 39, 40, respectively, spaced by a rib 41, the passage-ways 39, 40, receiving conductors 46, 48, whose bared ends 29, 26,'are clamped beneath the nut 19 and screw 28. Projections 45, 47, on the cover part 11 serve to close the passageways 39, 40, and form the initial part 8 of a third passage-way for receiving the earth conductor 49 connected to the nut 20. The base of the third passage-way is formed by the face 42 of the rib 41 and the final part of this passage-way is formed between an arcuate rib 43 and a boss 44 on the pin carrying part 10 and closed by a face 50 on the cover 11. Recesses 34, 36 in the parts 10, 11 receive a cable clamping strip and the parts 10, i are held together by a screw passing through a hole 58 into a threaded bush 57, (Fig. 4).
