Abstract

285,143. White, S. D., and Levenger, M. Nov. 10, 1926. Plug - couplings combined with electric switches. The socket member 5 and switch 4 are mounted in a case 3 having a cover 1 on which is pivoted a dolly 27 the end 30 of which engages a sliding bolt 21 that engages and operates the dolly 18 of a snap action switch, the lower end of the bolt 21 having a slot that engages an earthing pin on the plug element to prevent insertion or removal of the latter when the switch is closed. An enlargement of the slot coincides with the position of the earthing socket when the switch is open. A block 12 on the earthing socket is connected by a lead 13 and screw 14 to a boss 6 on the cover 1. Insulating bushings 34 line the holes in the cover through which pass the live pins of the plug element.
