Abstract

630,333. Two-part couplings plug boards. TELEFON FABRIK AUTOMATIC AKTIESELSKABET. April 2, 1947, No. 9019. Convention date, April 6, 1946. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIX] In a panel having rows of test or patching sockets for receiving multi-pin plugs, one or more of the pins of each plug is non-circular and is located angularly so that the plug can be inserted only in corresponding sockets. A two-pin plug 1, Figs. 1 and 2, has a round pin 2 and a flat pin 3, the angular position of the latter being determined by a hexagonal collar 6 seated in a corresponding recess in the plug body. The sockets, Fig. 4, comprise a tubular body 8 with an opening 11 for receiving the plug pin which operates spring contacts 10, the angular setting of the opening being determined by a hexagonal collar 9. The sockets with their collars 9 are clamped between insulating plates 13 and 14 with the sides of collars of adjacent sockets in each row in contact, Fig. 3, various combinations of sockets for two-pin plugs being shown.
