[Class 38 (i)] The socket contacts b1, b2 of a plug and socket or like coupling are rendered live when the plug member is inserted by resilient switch arms d1, d2 that are displaced to engage line terminals el, e2. The arms d1, d2 are moved by cams c1 c2 of insulating material, the insertion of one pin operating to render the other socket live. According to the Provisional Specification the switch arms may be operated by movement of a resilient part of the socket acting through an insulating piece, or by the movement of a spring base to the socket.
