Abstract

759,534. Two-part couplings. CHANABON, E. Feb. 19, 1954 [Sept. 21, 1953], No. 4981/54. Class 38 (1). A socket contact adapted to receive pins of different diameters comprises two jaws 1, 2 with an interengaging notch 6 and lug 8 respectively and secured together by a spring clip 3 a portion 3<SP>1</SP> of which is centred in notches 7, 7<SP>1</SP> in jaw 1. Assembled contacts are inserted in lateral recesses 9 in a socket body 10 of resilient material (Fig. 5) or non-resilient material (Fig. 8, not shown), clearance being provided in the latter case to permit expansion on insertion of a plug pin.
