Abstract

911,424. Two-part couplings. LOBLITE Ltd. May 10, 1961, No. 16984/61. Class 38 (1). An electrical plug adaptor comprises a body 1 carrying pins 4, 5, for entry into an associated socket, one or more sets of two sockets such as 18, 27, Fig. 1, to receive the pins of associated two-pin plugs such as 28, and a shutter 29 for the or each set of two sockets, the shutter being spring-urged towards a rest position in which it masks off the two sockets but being slidable against the spring loading by engaging the two pins of a plug with the shutter apertures 32 and shifting the shutter thereby so as to uncover the sockets and then permit entry of the pins of the twopin plug into the sockets. As shown, the pins 4, 5, terminate in sockets 6, 7, for receiving a three-pin plug 8 and protected by a rotary shutter 13, one of the pins 4 being connected directly to the sockets 18 and the other being connected to sockets 27 via clip contacts 22 adapted to receive a cartridge fuse 23. Fuse 23 is seated loosely in a fuse holder 33, which is a sliding fit in a channel of the body 1 and which contains a spare fuse 37.
