Abstract

727,378. Binding-posts; two-part couplings. GARNEROT & CO. (CONSOLIDATED AGENCIES), Ltd. Aug. 19, 1953 [Aug. 19, 1952], No. 22875/53. Class 38 (1). A plug pin 2, Fig. 1, has an extension 3 extending through the body 1 and through a slot in a clamping member 5 slidable transversely of the body, the member being urged by a leaf-spring 4 to a position in which a lead inserted through the rear of the body may be clamped between it and extension 3. In Fig. 2, extension 3 passes through an aperture in the clamping member and the part of the latter which engages the lead 10 is provided with a metal pressure member 9. A coil spring 8 is used in this case which may be contained in the part of the clamping member which projects outside the body (Fig. 3, not shown). In a two-pin plug (Fig. 4, not shown) opposite faces of a body are recessed to receive clamping members and other parts which are held in place by cover-plates. Plugs with two or more pins may be formed by assembling side-by-side, single-pin plugs similar to those of Figs. 1-3. Distance-pieces may be interposed between the bodies to vary the spacing of the pins.
