Abstract

700,999. Two-part couplings. PAINTON & CO., Ltd. April 4, 1952 [April 10, 1951], No. 8345/51. Class 38 (1) A plug and socket connector comprises a socket body 6 and a plug body 4 each of a single moulding, the plug contacts (Fig. 6) and socket contacts (Fig. 7) each being constructed of a single strip of springy steel, and having apertures 35, 46 respectively in one side of the contact bodies 34, 44. Each blade contact slides into a channel 7 in the body 4 from the rear, an abutment shoulder 8 and a projection 11 engaging the shoulder 25 and the aperture 35 respectively. Each socket contact is similarly inserted in a channel 7<SP>1</SP> in the body 6. A guide pin 47 on the plug body registers with a hole 48 in the socket body. Another embodiment, Fig. 8 (not shown) describes a cylindrical connector having the contacts arranged in a ring.
