Abstract
525,578. Two-part couplings combined with switches. BECKER, Ltd., G., and GUTHRIE, T. W. Feb. 23, 1939, No. 6055. [Class 38 (i)] A combined switch and socket coupling has means for locking the . plug in place when the switch is closed comprising a lever 9 rocked by a cam 8 on the switch lever 7 and restored by a spring 11. The end 12 of the lever passes through a slot in the earthing socket 4: and engages an annular groove in the earthing pin of the plug. The cover of the fitting may carry pivoted shutters that cover the live sockets 2 and are moved to inoperative position by a slide actuated by the earthing pin when the plug is inserted as described in Specification 498,418
