Abstract

442,197. Couplings. DABSCHECK, W., Lanark, Alexandra Avenue, South Yarra, Victoria, Australia. July 22, 1935, No. 20782. [Class 38 (i)] The leads to a plug coupling pass through separate passages in a flexible sleeve so that the wires do not touch if the insulation fails. The flexible sleeve 2 is shown fitted to a connector of the type described in Specification 362,033. The sleeve is provided with separate passages 3 for the wires, the central partition of the sleeve being formed with an extension 4a to abut the central portion of the connector. The sleeve is held in position by ring 6 which engages a suitable slot in the connector whilst the extension 4a co-operates with a correspondingly shaped portion of the connector to prevent the sleeve being turned. To make the sleeve more flexible, the walls are tapered towards the centre as shown.
