Supporting. - In a portable electric lamp in which the lamp-holder is secured by means of an universal joint to a band u or other means of attachment to the person, as described in the parent Specification, the member e<4> which carries the lamp-holder has two conductors v, v<1> connected to the terminals of the holder, these conductors being adapted to come in or out of contact with terminals d<2>, h<2> on a block m<1> secured in another joint member f<4> so that the circuit is broken when the member e<4> is turned beyond a predetermined angle. The member e<4>, in the form shown, consists of insulating material and is journaled at g in the upstanding lugs f<5> of the member f<4> which is pivoted at j on the band u. The member f<4> encloses the spring contacts d<2>, h<2> and sockets h' for a two-pin plug w<2>. The pivot g is adjustable in vertical slots in the lugs f<5> and is so positioned therein as to ensure sufficient contact between the conductors v, v<1> and the plungers d<2>, h<2>. The member e<4> is substantially quadrantal at the part e<5> and straight at e<6> so that the conductors v, v<1> leave the plungers and open the circuit when the lamp-holder has been rocked beyond a certain angle.
