Abstract

420,460. Plug couplings ; hinged couplings. DORER, P. O., Cricklewood Works, Edgware Road, Cricklewood, London. Aug. 17, 1933, No. 22980. [Class 38 (i)] An adjustable plug coupling for electric clocks &c. comprises a base a secured to or moulded on the clock &c. and carrying terminals d, and a barrel g mounted to rock on a spindle hand carrying plug or socket contacts k in electrical connection with the terminals d. The terminals d have annular extensions c surrounding the pivot h which is of insulating material. Corresponding annular portions l of the contacts k are pressed by springs o against the extensions c. The plug contacts k may each be formed of a pair of sheet metal stampings having semicircular portions m that form a cylindrical contact when the stampings are put together and leave a cavity in which a block q of rubber &c. is placed to give resilience to the contact.
