Actuating pumps by fluid-pressure motors.- Compressor pistons 10, 11 are actuated by intermediate pistons 5, 6 mounted above them and driven through an oscillating liquid column by a piston in the cylinder 7. The upper sides of the intermediate pistons are connected by a, liquid column 13. In a modification, the actuating liquid column may act on the upper faces of the intermediate pistons, the column 13 being disposed below them. Safety devices may be arranged within the foundations 18.
