Engine constructions independent of cycle.-A double acting engine is formed by two pistons c working in coaxial cylinders a and connected together by four bolts d; one of the pistons drives through a connecting-rod g on to the crank shaft @e which pusses between the bolts. Sets of such cylinders &c. can be placed side by side.
