Engines with two or more parallel cylinders with axes perpendicular to main shaft; radial-cylinder engines; valve-chests and casings.- A locomotive or like engine comprises two outer cylinders 1, 2 and a central parallel or inclined cylinder 3 working on the same or on two different crank shafts. The central cylinder is cast integral with separate admission and exhaust chests 4, 8 and a bracing frame 15.
