Abstract
290,919. Sulzer FrÞres Soc. Anon. Oct. 8, 1927, [Convention date]. Actuating pumps by fluid-pressure motors. -In a compressor in which power is transmitted from the piston 2 of the driving machine to an intermediate piston 5 which actuates the compressor piston 7, air escape or pressure relief valves are provided for the liquid, to which the intermediate pistons are exposed preferably on both sides. The liquid used may be oil supplied by feed devices 15, 16, 17 to the separate liquid columns, which are provided with safety valves 12 and air escape valves 18. Valves 21, 22 are also provided in the driving and intermediate pistons, opening under excess liquid pressure against springs. Stops 42, 43 are provided for the intermediate, pistons which are formed with extensions 44, Fig. 5, forming with the stops a liquid throttling device.
